Research Staff work closely with faculty members to support research work. Candidates are hired by an individual faculty member or by various centres at the Institute.
These positions are open to candidates with Graduate, Postgraduate or a Ph.D. degree who are interested in building a career in academic research. Faculty members or various centres at the Institute may look for specific qualifications or experience depending on the nature of the work. A strong interest in academic research and good analytical and writing skills are important for these roles.
These roles involve working on research projects either independently or as part of a team under the guidance of a faculty member and/or a centre chairperson.
Typical work may include:
Data Handling and Analysis
- Collecting, compiling, cleaning, and organizing data
- Analyzing qualitative and quantitative research results
- Assisting with statistical and thematic data analysis
- Conducting field surveys and investigations
Academic Writing and Documentation
- Writing research papers, case studies, and manuscripts
- Preparing research summaries and comprehensive reports
- Assisting in writing academic publications and proposals
Literature and Background Research
- Conducting literature reviews and summarizing key findings
- Supporting background research and context development
- Reviewing academic papers and distilling core ideas
Administrative and Technical Support
- Supporting research-related administrative and coordination tasks
- Organizing research materials and maintaining documentation

Terms and Salary:
These positions are contract-based and offered for a fixed period, and depending on the requirement in the project/centre contract may be extended further. Salary depends on qualifications, experience, skill set, the job’s responsibilities, and the prevailing Institute policy.
