Krishnamurthy Tandon School of AI

About Krishnamurthy Tandon School of AI

Artificial intelligence is reshaping decision-making across business, government, and society. The challenge today is no longer just advancing AI, but translating it into systems, policies, and practices that create sustained and responsible impact. The Krishnamurthy Tandon School of Artificial Intelligence at IIM Ahmedabad, generously supported by Ms. Chandrika Tandon, PGP Class of 1975 and Mr. Ranjan Tandon, has been established to address this challenge. Situated at the intersection of AI, management, and public systems, the school will integrate research, education and application in a deeply connected way to create impact. It will prepare future-ready leaders who combine technical fluency with managerial judgment and ethical responsibility, while building globally relevant knowledge grounded in Indian contexts. Through its work, the School will contribute to shaping how AI is adopted and governed across organisations and public systems. The ambition is to create a global benchmark rooted in management thought and oriented toward long-term institutional and societal transformation.

Mission

The Krishnamurthy Tandon School of Artificial Intelligence is envisioned as a translational AI school that will extend and strengthen IIMA’s legacy while preparing the institution for an AI-enabled future by focusing on how AI is understood, adopted, governed, and embedded within organisations and public systems. The mission of the school is anchored in four tightly connected pillars — Foundation, Impact, Research, and Education (FIRE). Together, these pillars translate global advances in AI into real- world value for India’s businesses and institutions.
