Stores and Purchase department ensures that the institute does not overspend on supplies while also keeping everything stocked. This department keeps track of items needed on a regular basis, it watches actual inventory, maintains stores for various kinds and finally oversees the disposal of scrap materials.
The Department has three sections:
- Stores and Purchase Office
- Central Store
- Maintenance Store
The tasks of the Stores and Purchases Department can be grouped under four headings:
Procurement of Capital Items
Our team at Stores & Purchase Office carries out activities related to procurement of Capital Items and maintains the record.
Procurement of Revenue Items and Inventory Management
Our team at Central Store is responsible for the inventory of stationary items, souvenir items, grocery items, printer cartridges and other consumable items.
Procurement for Maintenance Store
Our team at Maintenance Store is responsible for the inventory of items used by the Engineering, Estate, Electrical and Horticulture departments to carry out maintenance work.
The Stores and Purchase Office carries out scrap disposal activity on a quarterly basis depending on the requests from user departments.
