A faculty of the Organisational Behaviour area of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad), Prof. Sharda has a Doctorate from IIM Calcutta (Fellow Programme in Management) with a specialisation in Behavioural Sciences. She has been a Gold Medallist at both graduation (Psychology) and post-graduation (Industrial Psychology) levels with an Honours degree in Psychology as well. Her doctoral thesis, "Configurations of Business Process Outsourcing Firms" was chosen as a "Highly Commended Award Winner" in 2009, by Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Awards.


Prof. Sharda is a certified MBTI practitioner has received extensive training in process-work including using T-group method, Gestalt OD practices, theatre techniques, psychodrama, storytelling and other forms of experiential designs that facilitate greater awareness of behavioural processes in organisations. Prof. Sharda has also been trained in participant-centred learning methods (with an emphasis on case method teaching) at Harvard Business School.


Prof. Sharda's primary teaching interests lie in the areas of leadership, team dynamics, management of self in organisations, and entrepreneurship. Her current research is centred on talent management, employee motivation, sensemaking, and diversity and inclusion; and she has developed teaching cases around issues related to employee motivation and talent management in organizations. Prof. Sharda is a co-author of the book: Trucking Business Management: Cases and Concepts. She has also worked on a variety of executive education programmes, research and consulting projects for both private and public sector organisations. She has held various administrative roles at IIMA, including Chairperson, Placements and Chairperson, Communications Advisory Committee.


Prof. Sharda offers following programmes as a part of IIMA Executive Education: "Developing Entrepreneurial Mindset and Leadership" (Faculty, Chair) and "Corporate Theatre: Developing Creative Competencies through the Art of Storytelling and Film-making" (Faculty, Co-Chair). She has also been a Faculty Coordinator and Facilitator for the Harvard-IIMA "Case Method Teaching Seminar" (CMTS).
