Kanti Swarup

Professor Kanti Swarup worked in Production and Quantitative Methods Area from 2nd August 1971to 26th November 1973.

He left the Institute to work as a Professor at the Indian Institute of Public Administration in New Delhi.

Prof. Swarup earned his BA and MA in Mathematics from Delhi University. Between 1957 and 1963, he functioned as a Lecturer at Hans Raj College in New Delhi. Later, he joined the Faculty of Mathematics at Delhi University. During his tenure as a Lecturer, he was also Visiting Faculty at IIMC in the months of March and April in1967. Prof. Swarup also taught at the Indian Institute of Management in Kolkata.

Prof. Swarup was a Member of several associations during his academic life including the Operational Research Society of India; the Indian Mathematical Society and the Naval Research Logistic Quarterly. He was also awarded Lifetime Membership at the Society of Mathematical Sciences.

He was best known for his book, Introduction to Management Science Operations Research. Prof. Swarup had to his name over 45 papers published across journals and periodicals.
