Lakshmi Goyal

Biography

Lakshmi Goyal is an Assistant Professor in the Strategy area. She joined IIM Ahmedabad in June 2024. She was earlier associated with IIM Calcutta as an Assistant Professor since April 2022. She completed her PhD in Strategic Management from the Indian Institute of Management Indore in 2021 and PGDM (now MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta in 2009. She has worked with Tata Consultancy Services and Aditya Birla Group in technical and managerial roles.

Lakshmi’s teaching interests lie in the area of behavioral strategy and strategic leadership. She has earlier taught these courses in the flagship degree programs as well as in the executive education space. She has earlier directed a customized long-duration program for Deloitte Consulting, an open long-duration program on women leadership, and a tailored management development program for CII – Indian Women Network.

Lakshmi’s research interests lie in behavioral strategy, the role of heuristics in strategic decisions, and emerging market strategies. She has several publications in leading management and strategy journals such as Strategic Organization, British Journal of Management, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Journal of International Management to name a few. She has also won best paper awards at several national and international conferences.
