Ahmedabad: In the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, India saw perhaps its largest exodus of migrant workers from cities to the hinterland. While land issues in their native places is a driving factor for them to seek employment outside of their states, their return and at least temporary efforts to find a toehold in their native places will also require much-needed land reform s in India, argues an IIM-Ahmedabad working paper.
