IIM Ahmedabad on Wednesday appointed Errol D'Souza as its director following the government's approval.
The chairman of the board of governors of the IIM, Kumar Mangalam Birla, said D'Souza's five-year tenure would begin on February 1.
D'Souza studied economics and statistics at the University of Mumbai where he was awarded the Kashinath Trimbak Telang gold medal for coming first in the MA exam.
He obtained his PhD as a University Grants Commission National Research Fellow from Jawaharlal Nehru University. D'Souza has served IIM Ahmedabad in various capacities.
