Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) on Thursday completed the second cluster of summer placements for PGP’s class of 2019. Interestingly, PGP students have not only chosen to work with the corporates but five have also chosen internship opportunities. According to the institute, the Telangana government offered internship to IIMA students for industry and commerce, and ITE&C departments. The second cluster comprised of cohorts like consumer goods, general management and leadership, government enterprise, advisory consulting and consumer services, according to the placement coordinator.
Flipkart, the e-commerce firm that was in news after it deferred the joining dates for IIMA students in the 2016 final placements, also made offers to students this time. According to IIMA, Flipkart made eight internship offers to students while Amazon extended 12 offers.
“More than 45 firms participated in this cluster. Consumer Goods & Services included regular recruiters like AB InBev, Airtel, HUL, Mondelez, P&G, Reckitt Benckiser, Star TV, and Wipro, among others. AB InBev made nine offers, Airtel and HUL made eight offers each, while P&G and Star TV made seven offers each. The general management and leadership cohort saw a large number of offers. The RPG Group made 14 offers whereas the Aditya Birla Group made 10 offers,” according to the coordinator. The third cluster will be held on November 12.
