IIM Ahmedabad

27th March, 2026

We are happy to share that we have successfully completed the placements of all students of PGP- FABM at IIMA. The process was conducted in hybrid mode and concluded with 100% placements, with 45 students expected to join their respective organisations between April and June 2026.

The successful completion of the placement process amid a dynamic and evolving job market is a testament to IIMA’s strong industry relationships, the high quality of its academic rigour, and a robust placement framework that ensures flexibility for both recruiters and students.

The PGP-FABM cohort witnessed strong participation from recruiters across a wide spectrum of sectors, including Agri-Inputs, Agri-Tech, Consulting, FMCG, Food Processing, Commodity Trading, E-commerce, Pharmaceuticals, ESG Consulting, and other emerging domains. Students were offered roles across consulting, strategy, sales and marketing, and business development, among others, reflecting the diverse opportunities within the agribusiness ecosystem.

Sahyadri Farms emerged as the top recruiter this year. The placement process also saw continued participation from leading recruiters such as Valency International, Accenture, Grant Thornton Bharat, Ernst & Young (EY), Godrej Agrovet, PCI, ITC, Amul, PI Industries, and INI Farms, among others. Additionally, several new recruiters including Laila Group, Varaha, Prompt Equipments, Shoption, Areete Business Solutions, Tileswale Group, Ficus Food Labs, and Bighaat participated in the process, underscoring growing industry interest in the FABM programme and its talent pool.

Kiran Bhupathiraju, CEO of Laila Nutraceuticals, shared, “We are happy to see the smart adaptability, focus and passion of the students, and look forward to seeing them in action. Thank you for facilitating an efficient recruitment process.”

Prof. Viswanath Pingali, Chairperson of Placements, stated, “It is heartening to see the faith of recruiters on our PGP-FABM cohort for yet another year. The IIMA Placement system works on the principle of ‘Recruiter-Recruitee fit’, and I am happy to note that we continued to manage that despite significant headwinds.”

Sachidananda Hota, Recruitment Secretary of the PGP-FABM Placement Committee, said, “PGP- FABM has always stood at the intersection of agriculture, business, and sustainability, and the placement process this year reflects that unique positioning. Our objective has been to enable meaningful alignment between student aspirations and the evolving needs of the agribusiness ecosystem.

This year’s placements saw strong engagement from recruiters across sectors, and the variety of roles offered underscores the evolving nature of the agribusiness sector, where firms increasingly value candidates with a blend of domain understanding and managerial capability.

As a placement committee, our focus has been on building long-term relationships with recruiters while also bringing in new organisations that resonate with the evolving landscape of food and agribusiness. The outcome is a process that not only ensures successful placements but also reflects the growing relevance of FABM talent in shaping the future of the sector.”
