Ahmedabad | August 20, 2026: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) will host the IIMA Healthcare Summit 2026 on August 22, 2026, bringing together the government, industry, and academia to deliberate on the theme – “Advancing AI in Healthcare”. Smt. Anupriya Patel, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilisers, Government of India, will deliver the Keynote Address as the Chief Guest.

With the theme “Advancing AI in Healthcare”, this third edition of the IIMA Healthcare Summit is aligned with the Government of India’s IndiaAI Mission and the nation’s pursuit of a healthy, developed India by 2047. Convened by the IIMA Healthcare Alumni Special Interest Group, comprising over 400 alumni in leadership roles across the healthcare sector, and IIMA’s Centre for Management of Health Services (CMHS), the Summit reflects IIMA’s commitment to Swasth Bharat as the foundation for Viksit Bharat.

Various sessions during the Summit will examine a wide spectrum of issues related to the role of AI in advancing healthcare, from policy imperatives for India@2047, industry, research, and innovation, to the reimagined healthcare value chain, AI-ready leadership, and a showcase of AI-enabled startups involving India’s most pressing health challenges.

The Summit will also witness the launch of two initiatives documenting important chapters in India’s healthcare and pharmaceutical history. The India Pharma Archives seeks to preserve and chronicle the evolution of the Indian pharmaceutical industry and create a significant digital archival record of the sector. Alongside this will be the launch of a publication documenting India’s COVID-19 vaccine development, capturing an important chapter in India’s scientific, pharmaceutical and institutional response to a global health crisis.

The Healthcare Summit forms part of IIMA’s wider and continuing engagement with healthcare through its faculty, alumni, research, executive education, and institutional initiatives. IIMA’s Centre for Management of Health Services (CMHS) has contributed significantly through healthcare research and public-policy thought leadership. IIMA has also strengthened its engagement at the intersection of healthcare and artificial intelligence. CMHS’ conference on responsible AI Innovation in Healthcare, held in October 2025, was designated by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology as an Official Pre-Summit event of the AI Impact Summit 2026. The establishment of the Krishnamurthy Tandon School of Artificial Intelligence at IIMA further provides an institutional platform for initiatives in the field of AI from IIMA.

Three editions in, the IIMA Healthcare Summit has grown from a convened event into a national platform where evidence is produced, policy is deliberated, and partnerships are encouraged. With its distinctive agenda and distinguished speakers, the 3rd edition will be the thought builder for the future of Indian healthcare, with AI as its defining force – for India, and from India for the world.
