May is usually vacation time, but here at the Institute we have seen a number of exciting events. From the FDP conference cum reunion to the FT rankings, from the inauguration of the 21st General Management Programme at the DIFC, Dubai to Director's meeting with alumni in Dubai, we have seen a lot of activity. One of our esteemed alumni, Mr. Ajaypal Singh Banga, was selected as the President of the World Bank earlier this month, and the digital exhibition, 'Maritime Trade of Gujarat's Princely States: Nawanagar and Porbandar' was launched by the Archives. What was the situation 60 years ago, in May 1963? Please see the attached document that highlights points of interest discussed by the faculty. Note that Dr. Vikram Sarabhai was the Director (Honorary) at that time, and preparations were on for the first PGP that was to be launched in 1964. The collaboration with the Harvard Business School had also been initiated, and there is reference to this in the attached document. Note Dr. Sarabhai's advice regarding a newsletter to facilitate sharing of the happenings at the Institute with Harvard.
