Akkanad M Isaac

Prof. Akkanad M Isaac joined IIMA in 1970 and worked there for a decade.

Prof. Isaac joined the Governors State University in Illinois as a Professor in Management Information Systems in 1980. After four years in Illinois, he returned to the Institute in 1983 as a Visiting Professor in the Finance and Accounting Department where he remained until 1984.

Prof. Isaac received his BSc degree in 1954 from the Union Christian College, Kerela University. He attained a Post Graduate Diploma in Librarianship from the Madras University and an MSc in Applied Mathematics from the Mumbai University. Prof. Isaac later worked as a Scientific Officer at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Bombay for five years.

In 1965, he began school at the Lehigh University in Bethlehem where he attained an MSc in Information Sciences and a PhD in Information Sciences and Operational Research. At the University, he worked as a Research Assistant for two years in the Center for Information Sciences. Prof. Isaac went on to attain a postdoctoral degree from the University of Pittsburg in 1970. Later, he served as an Associate Professor in Industrial Engineering at the University of Pittsburg.

He held various administrative positions at the Governors State University. He was a Member of the Advisory Committee for Academic Computing; the University Educational Policy Committee, the University Planning Committee; the University Senate Executive Committee and the University Senate.

He was honoured with the international Atomic Energy Fellowship in 1963; the C Kemble Baldwin Research Fellowship by the Lehigh University in 1965 and the Fulbright Scholarship in 1985. He had 49 publications to his name under categories including Operation Research, Management, Policy Making, Information Sciences, and Accounting.
