Dr. A. R. Vasavi spent about a year at the Ravi J. Matthai Centre for Educational Innovation (December 30, 1993 to January 31, 1995). She joined the institute soon after obtaining a PhD in Social Anthropology from the Michigan State University. She had completed her MA and MPhil from the University of Delhi. During her stay at the institute, she worked on a few issues related to governance of schools in the state system.
