IIMA is a place where 98 odd full time faculty and an equal number of visiting faculty of international standards meet to teach courses, do research and consulting. IIMA creates a unique environment whereby faculty can take the fullest advantage in enhancing their careers thru numerous opportunities. Not only does the Institute provide a conducive atmosphere for teaching and research, the Institute also facilitates faculty in actively participating and contributing to national conferences any number of times in a year and international conferences once in a year. The Library resources in the Institute are one of the best in Asia in the management field.
Periodically, the institute receives endowment grants from industry to create Chair professorships. The Institute, through a transparent process, awards these to eminent faculty in recognition, reward and promotion of sustained, outstanding and creative contributions to research and/or teaching.
The Institute expects the Chair professor to undertake a major programme of research in consultation with the donor organization with a view to providing a significant thrust to the Institute's academic contribution to professional management in the Indian context.
Apart from the research work the incumbent of the chair is also expected to participate in the Institute's other activities such as teaching in long and short term programmes and consultancy.

IIMA offers Masters and Doctoral level programmes and short duration Faculty Development Programmes.
PGPX, a full time residential programme for executives with substantial work experience leading to a One Year Post-Graduate Diploma in Management for Executives. The programme has a general management focus, with emphasis on managing across borders and cultures.
The Institute also runs several Executive Education Programmes for working executives who need to upgrade their knowledge and insights in rapidly changing business environments. The Executive Education Programmes (MDPs), delivered by faculty, are carefully structured to reflect the most relevant needs of industry.
Faculty participate in teaching, undertake individual / group research and are involved in consulting assignments and Executive Education.
Professor: Ph.D or equivalent with a successful track record of research and publications and a minimum of 10 years of teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Assistant /Associate Professor.
Associate Professor: Ph.D or equivalent with a successful track record of research and publications and a minimum of 8 years of teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant / Associate Professor.
Assistant Professor: Ph.D or equivalent with a brilliant academic background. Experience, while desirable, is not essential. Those about to complete their doctorate may also apply. Such candidates may be considered for visiting appointment till such time they formally complete the doctoral programme.
An outstanding manager or a professional in his own field working in industry and with established reputation and who has made significant contribution to knowledge, but not having a Ph.D degree, could also be considered for appointment.
For all the above positions, contractual or visiting appointment for specific periods will be considered. The age of superannuation is 65 years with facilities to get re-employment upto 70 years.
Salary and Perquisites:
Plus allowances and superannuation benefits as per the Government of India norms. Faculty is allowed to do consulting according to Institute norms. New faculty can expect on-campus accommodation.
