Research Centres extend the use of management science to other sectors of the economy
 
Initially modeled as a business school, IIMA set up such customary academic Areas like Business Policy, Economics and Marketing. However, as it took on the challenge of professionalizing not just business management but also management in several other priority sectors, it set up a number of sector or mission oriented thrust groups termed ‘Centres' to apply management science to other sectors of the economy.
 
These Centres are staffed by faculty members of the different Areas who come together to pursue research and consulting.
