Arka Das

I am a doctoral researcher pursuing my Ph.D. in Operation Research with a specialization in Machine Learning from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA). IIMA is the most premier management institute in India (commonly ranked 1 in India). My thesis, “Exact Solution Methods for Solving Non-convex Optimization Problems” focuses on designing new algorithms for solving problems with non-convex application. Specifically, the thesis addresses “Facility Location Problems” and “Production-Transportation Problems” with non-convex variable cost, and “Hub Location Problems With Economies of Scale”. I am about to finish my Ph.D. by March 2022. Also, I completed my M.Tech from IIT Delhi.  

I have a strong course foundation in subjects such as Operations Research, Operation Management, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, etc. My recent academic contribution includes conditional acceptance of a paper in an A* (highest-ranking level in the ABDC journal list). The paper reports an exact algorithm for solving concave problems arising in various application areas. I have presented my research works at various international conferences such as ORSI International Conference, Euro Conference.
