Rama Bijapurkar (PGP 1975-77, Visiting Faculty and IIMA Board Member)

Rama Bijapurkar (1957- ), studied physics at Delhi University and was a student of IIMA (PGP 1975-77). Since her graduation, she spent over four decades in the field of marketing primarily as an independent researcher, consultant, teacher, entrepreneur, and writer, contributing to the development of 'market research' in India. She was also associated with Lintas, Hindustan Lever and McKinsey and has served on the boards of numerous companies. She was a visiting faculty and Professor of Management Practice at IIMA for several years, and member of the IIMA Board (2004-2014). In this wide-ranging interview, she reflects on her upbringing, her time at IIMA as student, visiting faculty and Board member, and many aspects of her career in marketing and consultancy.
