Mr. Anil Manibhai Naik (1942- ) is one of India's best known professional managers who helped build Larsen & Toubro.

Mr. Naik was born on 9 June, 1942, in Gujarat. He graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering and worked at Nestor Boilers before he joined Larsen and Toubro as junior engineer in 1965. In 1986 he became a General Manager at L&T. He was made the CEO and Managing Director of the company in 1999, and was appointed as the Chairman in 2003. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2009 and in 2019 he received the Padma Vibhushan. His life was chronicled in 2017 in a book titled The Nationalist: How A. M. Naik overcame great odds to transform Larsen & Toubro into a global powerhouse.

IIMA played an important role in training the managerial cadres of L&T for several decades. A M Naik himself had participated in IIMA's 1968 Management Development Programme titled Laboratory for Personal & Organizational Development when he was a Works Manager at L&T. Between 2012 and 2016, he was IIMA's Chairperson of the Board of Governors.
